Slay on a budget
My tummy won't let me be great obviously

Hi guys! So apparently, slay happens to be the in word right now especially as regards us girls and how we look. Although the word slay has existed since forever especially in dragon movies, they always "slay the dragon". Okay let's come back a bit, why am I bringing up dragons, this post isn't about dragons.

Slay on a budget

You want to know how to slay without draining your bank account and emptying your wallet right? So from all my research online, slay in this context basically means to nail or kill something in a good way. So we're talking slaying your looks and how to look good, stylish, fashionable without spending too much. I talked a bit about slaying on a budget in this ootd post, be sure to check that out.

Slay on a budget

1. Shop at the cheaper stores - To me, there's absolutely nothing wrong about shopping at the cheaper stores. When you do have the money for it, it's great to buy designer things but when you can't afford them, the cheaper stores still gat you! You can get some nice pieces from other stores and they don't scream, "this top isn't expensive or it's from a cheap store". My student account balance for now doesn't let me even look at some shops from outside talk more of even entering inside because for one item there, I can't get more in another shop so....

2. Take advantage of sales - In North Cyprus, 'indirim' is Turkish for sales and discounts. And no shame, I love 'indirims' especially when I see 50%, 70% those ones are the best. Most of my major shopping I do during sales, yes tell me I like cheap things or I'm stingy whatever. But it's the truth. Why buy a dress when it just comes out at a very high price when in some weeks or months, that same dress will be sold for even more than half the initial price off. But in reality, you can't always wait for sales if you want or need something but it's still a major key though.

3. Shop out of season - basically, what I mean is buy winter clothes - turtle necks, jumpers, cardigans, jackets and boots in summer cause they'll be so so cheap and then buy your summer tees and clothes in winter as well.  This tip really works.

4. Invest in basic pieces that you can mix and match multiple times - Instead of buying clothes with prints and patterns that you can just wear once and not wear again for a while. Buy clothes that you can wear in different ways and won't be too obvious. Like if you have a black high waist skirt, you can wear with different shirts, t-shirts, bodysuits, jacket, with heels, with sneakers you can basically dress them up and down. The same with something like a black basic top, you can wear it in different ways. So basics like well fitting jeans, basic skirts, basic colors of tops like black, white, nude.

5. Accessories - I'm still yet to delve into this aspect with my own outfits but accessories really take a look from zero to 100. It can be the perfect shades or clear glasses, a bag, neck piece, wrist watch, body chains, anything but accessories are the way to go and you can get them for really cheap.

6. Buy clothes from cheap online stores - Online stores like aliexpress, zaful and others sell  cheap trendy clothes. All you have to do is search for the good stuff, check the reviews if they are good and get the sizing right. And many of them offer free shipping which is a plus. The quality might not be everything but you can get something good out of them though and others may actually surprise you.

So when it comes to slaying, it's not just about clothes and shoes right, there's hair and make up as well which is why I'll leave those for another post. This one is already too long as it is. Try those tips guys and let me know how it goes. I personally have some pieces that people always compliment and in my mind I'm always like "if only you know how much I bought this".  So over to you, what tips do you have for slaying on a budget?  Let me know your thoughts in the comment section, also leave any questions you may have.
