Hi guys! Welcome back to my blog!

When I first became a big girl and started growing hair in my armpits, I was feeling like a grown up but more importantly, I didn't touch it for a whileeeeee. When I finally did, I can't remember if it was my mom who asked me to or I just did it on my own, but I shaved it first with a razor (although we call it shaving stick). So my armpit hair removal routine was basically, get a shaving stick or razor, raise up my arms and start going up and down removing the hair. And those razors were super sharp. It removed the hair completely but it left my armpits in serious, serious and I repeat serious pain and discomfort. For me, the skin there is really sensitive and after shaving, I always had bumps, itching, stinging, sometimes bleeding, it was just terrible and that's why I always dreaded shaving but once in a while I would have to go throw it all because you can't afford to be walking around with a forest underneath there now, can you?

When I discovered hair removal cream, I abandoned razors for a bit but I recently found a correct and safer shaving routine. Previously, I would just take the razor to my dry or sometimes sweaty armpit and just start shaving which is soooo WRONG. Think about how men shave, for example, they use shaving cream that forms a foam around their beards before they start shaving with the razor. Same applies to the armpits and I don't know why I never knew this. For those who didn't know like me, there's something called shaving gel. I use the Gillette Satin Care Lavender Kiss shave gel in my routine.

I read the best time to shave is fresh from a warm shower. The water helps to soften the area and the hair roots and makes them come off more easily. I don't know about you but I can't shower twice cause when I shower and I shave, do I shower again or what? So I shave during the shower. After dampening my armpits, I apply some of the shave gel to my armpits and rub it in so it forms a foamy lather that covers the hair. Then, I take the razor and start to shave, I use the Gillette Venus razor especially for women (will review it soon).  I usually keep applying the shave gel until I get off all the hair. When it comes to shaving with razors, my number one fear is getting cut but the gel gives me more confidence when shaving because I'm sure I won't get cut and it leaves my skin feeling smooth, soft and smelling nice. After shaving the hair, as the instructions on the shave gel say, I just rinse with water and voila - clean, clear, bump free, injury free, blood free armpits that you can do a lot with like wave your hands up in the air thinking twice.

So that's the routine guys, if you've just been shaving directly on the hair like I used to, that's okay no one told me this either and I wonder why. Anyways, go forth and do that no more! I hope this post was helpful. What's your armpit shaving routine like? Thanks for reading till the end. Stay awesome!  Please subscribe to my blog if you haven't yet, please!
